Cortaderia richardii is a dense, evergreen, clump-forming grass. Arching stems carry shaggy, drooping, creamy or silvery white flower panicles, from midsummer and lasting into winter. Pampas are very tolerant of salt and wind so an excellent plant for a seaside garden.

Soil: Well drained but moisture retentive soil in full sun. Thrives on sandy and gritty soils.
