Dogwood Magic flame

A truly beautiful shrub for Winter colour, Cornus sanguinea Magic Flame also known as Winter Beauty is an upright, deciduous shrub with excllent Autumn foliage and Winter stem colour. Clusters of white flowers appear in Summer are followed by small round, blue-black fruit, the large, mid-green leaves turn yellow to bright red in Autumn. Cornus sanguinea Magic Flame really comes into its own in Winter when the stems turn brilliant shades of orange, red and yellow. Every year or two prune back hard to encourage growth of colourful new stems.
