Apple Arthur Turner

Apple Arthur Turner

One of the best mid-season culinary apples, Apple Arthur Turner was introduced in 1915, and has more than stood the test of time. It has gorgeous deep-pink blossom, perhaps the most beautiful of all apples. The fruit is large and light green, flushed golden-orange. The sweet-sharp, well-flavoured flesh cooks to a sweet, yellow purée, needing very little sugar, and it is one of the best baking apples. Apple Arthur Turner is a vigorous tree and a heavy, reliable cropper. Some susceptibility to mildew, but good resistance to scab. Spur-bearer – spurs freely. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
