Californian Lilac Blue Mound

An excellent, eye-catching plant for the spring garden, Ceanothus Blue Mound is a medium-sized, evergreen shrub with a broad, dense, bushy habit. The ovate leaves are a deep, glossy green, setting off the flowers beautifully. In April and May, compact, rounded heads, 2 ½ -3”/6-8cm long, of bright blue flowers cover the plant, and look wonderful with yellow narcissus; the flowers are attractive to bees and early butterflies. Ceanothus need protection from cold, drying winds, and do well in the shelter of a warm, sunny wall. Californian lilac Blue Mound holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
