Buddleia Buzz Lavender
Buddleia is also known as the butterfly bush, because the shrub is often covered with butterflies when in flower. Buddleja davidii Buzz Lavender is a compact, long-flowering, deciduous shrub, ideal at the front of a border in a small garden, or for a patio container. The narrow elliptical leaves are an attractive grey-green, setting off the flowers beautifully. From June to September, masses of conical heads of lavender-blue flowers are carried on the shrub, providing nectar for pollinators, especially butterflies. Buddleia Buzz Lavender is easy to grow; prune in early spring to keep it in shape.
HISTORY
This series of plants was developed by Thompson & Morgan of Ipswich, Suffolk, England in a quest to create new hybrids which were more compact and easier to grow in the modern small garden. After 8 years of breeding and selection, the Buzz™ series was born.
