Large, glossy black fruits with a superb rich flavour. Another one of the late-flowering, cold-resistant Ben series that were developed in Scotland. Blackcurrant Ben Connan is a dwarf variety; at 3-4’ (1-1.2m) high it’s a good choice for small gardens. As with all the Ben series, the fruits ripen simultaneously, allowing you to pick the entire bunch. Do not delay picking as the fruit tends to drop when ripe. Good frost and mildew resistance. Plant lower than the nursery soil-mark to encourage new growth from below soil level. Once established, Blackcurrant Ben Connan will produce 3.5kg (over 7lb) of fruit and will keep producing for up to 10 years. Received the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society
