Twisted Silver Birch
Betula pendula 'Spider Alley' (commonly known as Twisted Silver Birch) is a striking and unusual silver birch cultivar that brings year-round playful and architectural interest to the landscape. In Spring, fresh green foliage emerges along strangely twisted, gnarled, and contorted branches, creating a unique lace-like canopy through Summer, before turning a warm clear yellow in Autumn. As the leaves drop in Winter, the tree reveals its most mesmerizing feature: snake-like stems clad in brilliant white peeling bark that shines dramatically against dark backdrops. A compact and slow-growing tree, it is an ideal specimen feature for smaller gardens, courtyards, or focal borders.
