Bergenia Bressingham White
Also known as elephant’s ears, Bergenia Bressingham White is a clump-forming, evergreen, rhizomatous perennial, good at the front of a border. It’s particularly free-flowering, and one of the best white bergenias. The rounded, deep green leaves form a ground-covering mound. In March and April, racemes of pure white, bell-shaped flowers open from pinkish buds on stout stems rising above the clump of leaves; the flowers later develop a pale pink tinge. Good in pots, tough and adaptable, Bergenia Bressingham White holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
