Azalea mollis Double Parfait

Azalea Double Parfait

A medium growing, deciduous, Knap Hill/Exbury azalea. Flowers are variable, single, semi-double or double, with variable shades of pink on petals and petaloids. Flowers from May-June flowering. Height 125-150cm in 10 years.

An interesting occidentale hybrid bred by Frank Mossman from his well respected 'Smith and Mossman' occidentale seed collections from the West coast of America. The flowers can be variable from branch to branch and from year to year, with or without petaloid forms which can develop after a few years.

Good at the edge of a filtered/dappled-light, woodland planting. Needs thinning occasionally (removing whole branches back to the trunk) and removing dead, damaged or crossing branches. Water well in its first year.
