Dating back to the end of the 19th century, Apple Lord Hindlip is a versatile and particularly long-keeping late dessert apple. The fruit is medium-sized, conical and ribbed, greenish-yellow, almost covered with a brownish-orange flush streaked and stippled with crimson; the flesh is cream, stained pink near the skin, firm and juicy, with a rich, sweet, ‘wine-y’ flavour. Moderately vigorous, upright, spreading tree which produces spurs freely. Good cropper, reliable, and with good disease resistance, particularly to scab. Best eaten from December, after ripening fully in store.
