An early culinary apple, Apple Glenstal Cooker comes from the orchards of Glenstal Abbey in Co Limerick. Very large, round, slightly unevenly shaped fruit, pale yellowish-green with an orange-pink blush and some red stippling. Good all-round cooking apple, which can sometimes be picked as early as late August, but not a keeper. Reliable, heavy cropper with good disease resistance.
This Irish Heritage Apple tree was originally saved and propagated by Irish Seed Savers in Scarriff, County Clare.
