Apple Crispin

Apple Crispin

Bred in Japan in 1930, dual-purpose Apple Crispin is also known as Mutsu. One of its parents was Golden Delicious, which Crispin resembles in appearance and flavour, with large, yellow apples, crisp, juicy, creamy-white flesh and sweet-sharp flavour. It’s also suitable for juicing and for baking, slices keeping their shape in tarts. Very vigorous, spreading tree; a heavy cropper. Spur-bearer, producing spurs freely. Very hardy, suitable for colder areas. Prone to scab. Triploid – must be planted with two different varieties if all three are to bear.
