A beautiful, white agapanthus or African lily, Agapanthus Polar Ice is a medium-sized, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial, one of the hardier, deciduous agapanthus. The strap-shaped leaves are mid-green, forming an attractive clump. In July and August, the plant carries, on upright stems, globular umbels of white, trumpet-shaped flowers, which are attractive to pollinators. Agapanthus Polar Ice is lovely planted at the front of a sunny border, as the clump is quite low and the beautiful flowers allow you to see through to the plants behind. It can also be grown in soil-based compost in a container, especially in colder, exposed areas where it can be brought in for the winter; otherwise, use a dry mulch.
