Red Buckeye 'Atrosanguinea'
Aesculus pavia 'Atrosanguinea', is a magnificent, slow-growing deciduous small tree or large shrub celebrated for its spectacular spring display. In Spring, deep red-tinged young leaves open into handsome, palmately compound dark green foliage, closely followed by upright panicles of striking, deep crimson-red tubular flowers that attract bees and pollinators. The lush canopy provides rich summer texture before turning subtle bronze-yellow in Autumn. Forming a neat, rounded crown with smooth grey bark, it is an ideal focal specimen for smaller gardens, woodland margins, or sheltered borders.
