Originating as a cultivar in the 1980s, Thuja plicata Gelderland is a popular choice for coniferous hedges due to its upright growing, vigorous, narrowly conical shape. Its good level of disease resistance coupled with its attractive green foliage makes this a good solid choice for a hedge. Also thanks to its high quality resinous timber, it produces a sturdy attractive wood suitable for indoor or outdoor use
