Wearing gloves, plant 10cm deep and 20cm apart in September, in a sunny, sheltered position, and divide bulbs only when flowering diminishes. Allow the foliage to die down naturally; this is more attractive when grown naturalised in grass; otherwise, allow a low perennial to grow in front of the clumps.
