Cupressus macrocarpa - Monterey Cypresss

Monterey Cypress

Cupressus macrocarpa is a medium to large sized evergreen conifer, It has become a very common hedging plant and also planted as a specimen tree that can resemble the Lebanese Cedar. When young, It holds a broadly columnar to conical shape, however a mature tree carries a wider spreading crown. The foliage is made up of bright green scale-like leaves held in densely packed sprays. Monterey Cypress bears 20-30cm rounded, brown cones which are held along the branches adding further interest.
