Rosa Dorothy Perkins - Rambling Rose

Rambler Rose Dorothy Perkins

A popular, old-fashioned rambler, Rosa Dorothy Perkins is a very vigorous, deciduous rose with long, lax stems and plentiful, glossy, deep green, divided leaves. Like most ramblers, it flowers magnificently in midsummer, but does not repeat. Big sprays of semi-double, rose-pink rosette flowers with only a slight scent are borne from June to August. Rambler rose Dorothy Perkins is a tough, hardy rose, but rather prone to mildew, especially when trained on a wall; it needs good, fertile moist soil. It is particularly good on pergolas or trained up a tree with a late-flowering viticella-type clematis which will flower when the rose has gone over. Tolerates partial shade and is easy to train.
